Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow is the founder of Mary's Meals and has been named as on of the top ten finalists of the 2010 CNN Hero of the Year.
He made it because of his selfless service in responding the need of the children. Because of his hands on experience way back in Malawi, he decided to put up Mary’s Meals. Its goal is to break the cycle of poverty by providing the basic needs of the children. He believed that this will lead to eradicate poverty.
Truly, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow is a good reflection of an ordinary person who makes an extraordinary mission in this modern world.
We are encouraging the people of the world to support and vote him so that we could have a true hero that will continue making a difference in the lives of the children around the world.
As the 2009 Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida said, “Each person has a hidden hero within, you just have to look inside you and search it in your heart, and be the hero to the next one in need… so to each and every person inside in this theater and for those who are watching at home, the hero in you is waiting to be unleashed. Serve, serve well ….”
He is the mirror in the statement of Efren Peñaflorida. Let us support him and see Magnus on the fourth annual "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on November 25, 2010.
On the other hand, he said: "I never cease to marvel at the way doors seem to open for Mary’s Meals. I know lots of heroes and I am not one of them. However I realize that this is the most amazing chance to tell more people about the difference that a meal a day, in school, can make to a child's life."
